20 minute BSC with Jordan JX92
5 Attachment(s)
So like a heathen I've been running my speakers without any Baffle Step Correction for over a year, in my defence I and others thought they sounded very good. Since moving to a new house, a new space, the turntable has sounded like listening to a pair of headphones lying on a glass table.
So I finally succumbed and spent some time lurking in the forums, asking a few questions, scratching my bald head. The bits arrived from Flacon Acoustics last week and 20 minutes of amateur soldering later... So to comment on the sound, vinyl is listenable again so that's a bonus. The sound? Well I think it's something lost something gained. Everything is brought into line so to speak and the top end detail is tamed but still there. It rises equally in step with the mid and low bass so all in all certainly has helped in this room. Next stage is to try E100HD in place of the JX92s to see if the smoother upper response makes any difference... |
Don't know if you have thought about line level bsc? Need a preamp before power amp though...
Smaller components. |
I'm afraid this is as far as my skills go. I am interested in collaborating with someone to help me build a crossover design for the EAD E100HD and the ScanSpeak D2008/851100 though, both as a floor-stander and bookshelf...
