MJK's Fostex FF125wk BLH project

Has anyone, even MJK himself, built this horn yet? I've searched for info on this forum and others but to no avail (although the project was mentioned at least once in another thread). It looks like a great design.

Hi,
I think nobody has yet built this design..
It's new (december 2012), maybe you can ask about this on Yahoo's group.
Phil.

Slightly before December:

Thanks Scott. That thread didn't turn up for me.

I am thinking of trying out this horn at some point down the line, but right now I have to accept that speakers are not the weak point in my system. I've started making cautious forays into the amp forums, gleaning information...

Chaz,
This is the perfect project to try in foam and hot melt glue now that you are an expert in foam core cabinets. Probably about 4 sheets and $2 of glue per cabinet. A lot of pieces though - time consuming to cut compared to long single width channel of cornu.

The whole cabinet could barely be done with one sheet of 4x8 plywood, so it would take at least 8 sheets of foam board! :D A tempting thought though...

Ok, $8 of foam board and $3 of gkue sticks (half a bag or 50 sticks to be generous) :D You would be the first to build an mjk blh of most optimised design!

Scottmoose 8th January 2013 08:32 AM

Most optimised?

xrk971 8th January 2013 10:38 AM

Most optimized blh of MJK's designs, at least that was what he seem to suggest as he uses many lessons learned from his earlier designs. Not most as in best of any blh design ever... :)

Scottmoose 8th January 2013 10:48 AM

I was going to say, that would be a trifle circumstance-dependent. ;)
