I think white glue is to stiff/unflexible and the foam might get loose due to vibrations. Perhaps it would have looked better if the silicone was gray, but I used what I had at home.

The foam you guys are using is hard to come by here in Sweden.
It is considered art material and costs $15 for a 70x100 cm sheet.
The XPS foam floor underlay costs $3 for the same size.
It is rigid enough for the structure, but the innermost curves tends to bend outwards. Hence the braces.

At $15 ea, I would resort to something else too. it might be that it is made in the US and most of that is shipping costs...
