Very nice work Rock12.
Your calculation of the depth at 4 inches matches the Sd of the 315e perfectly. It would probably work fine even at 3 in depth. Looking forward to first listening impressions.

Another thing of beauty. My BIL has done his 20" spirals and the Aura NS3 drivers arrived yesterday so it won't be long before he has them up and running.

Cal,
Is your BIL making two sets? I see another hanging on the wall... Very nice work! He should get online and hang out with the Foam Crowd.

Yes, those are the original ones he just winged. He didn't have the pattern at the time but wanted to get going so he just threw them together as he saw fit.
While he is a computer guy, English is not his first language and he might be conscious of that. I know one thing, he's hooked. This is his Christmas present from me. I don't normally do Christmas presents but when he showed an interest, I was very happy so I got him 25 sheets of board, an extra glue gun, the plans and the drivers. Sometimes people show an interest while you're there but that fades when you leave. Not this time.

You're a good BIL
I am looking forward to hearing his listening impressions. He looks very close to first sound. And you say those $2 Aura drivers sound decent?

No, the $2 Aura sound like $5 speakers. Not bad but you'd quickly want something more. I sent him thees here, the ones I call the real NS3's
http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com...xtended-range/ Much better. |

Those are nice drivers Cal.
10 mm of stroke, are you kidding me? He may get some bass to punch out of those cabinets!

Yes, I said he'd better use wood front and back.
![]() I'll think he'll be pleasantly surprised. Peak to peak is a cheater way of listing it, that's really 5mm. Either way, it moves quite a bit for 3". Planet10 picked those up for me during his last order so it was super handy. |

I really like those Aura NS3s- used them in a couple different projects: a clarinet case baby boom box, and a pair of Mini Onkens and they worked well in both applications. They are small inexpensive and sound really good.
