Infinity IL60 tweeter volume too low...
HI, I have a pair of Infinity IL60 full range speakers with both tweeters dead. I replaced them with dayton tweeters from partsexpress but the volume output is significantly lower compared with the original tweeters. Several months ago with the help of a few members I was able to increase the tweeter output by bypassing the resistor at the crossover. However, it's still not enough. By now, I don't really want to mess with the crossover since the crossover has only one resistor for the tweeter which I already bypassed. My question is, can I simply add a few resistors to the mid driver and the woofer to produce a voltage drop to the mid driver and the woofer without change the impedance. I understand that there are other options like adding an L-pads, but that would mean adding 4 L-pads for the pair of speakers. I'm just looking for a simple way to reduce the volume of the mid and woofer. I would really appreciate for any suggestion.
