Default Freq. Response Control, Small Single Driver

Hello friends,
I want to cutoff the bass of a 2.5in full range driver without using a cap and run it through a full range amp to serve as a Mid-Hi Speaker while hoping to gain better power handeling.

Making a smaller box than required and padding it heavily will cut from the bass response. but is it safe to assume that it will increase the power handeling as well?

Thanking you in advance,

No, not in my experience. Think about it -- the little driver is still "seeing" the wattage. And it will still try its best to play that bass energy, exceeding its excursion limits, and eventually, its thermal limits.
