Those are EL70eN (wide trapezoids). The similar enclosure for A7 is a bit smaller, and it would be my favourite for the A7.3 if used with a woofT. There are 3 widths of trapzoid Mar-Ken for the A7.

Am I too late?
How high up will your stereo subs go? If they'll hit 300Hz nicely, you could take the crossover much higher than would be conventional, allowing you to give the FR driver an easier time (less distortion due to cone excursion etc). This would benefit all full-range drivers, but I'd expect moreso the A7.3 as its cone area is small, so must move more to keep up with the bigger drivers in terms of sheer output. If I am too late, don't worry - you'll have plenty of fun with the A12s. You could try taking the crossover higher up, but you probably won't hear much benefit until you're at really high SPLs. Mark (I think) did mention that the new A12 is best suited to low watt tube amps.
If you are thinking the A12 is bigger so must move more air you may be disappointed. Size really aint everything, especially when it comes to full ranges. If you want 3d imaging = A7 Bass = A10 |
