Hi everyone.
I have another thread where I'm about to build a pair of 2" x 36 driver arrays as an experiment. I've just recieved word that the cnc steel baffles are ready. Further reading on comb filtering etc tells me at some stage I'll be playing with HF drivers and filters etc. Has anyone tried a long thin(2200 x 100mm) foam strip with a couple of nxt drivers mounted to it as a HF device? I ask as bending wave panels like nxt panels emit sound over a large area and are not directional. It could be suspended next to the line array itself and just used as a HF driver? Am I crazy? Or what about a series of very closely spaced panels? Maybe 300 x 100mm for each panel with very small 5mm gaps? Was just thinking an arm off the side of the array with the transducer back directly glued to it and the panels 'floating' on the tranducers. Many people swear by the omnidirectional properties of these panels and it could create a simple and cheap solution? Theres a long thread on here about them with an aussie guy saying he's used a certain kind of foam. It so happens that supplier is a 30 min drive from me?
