You can mutate the CGR. Keep the volume the same. keep the vent cross-section the same and the length (but keep the aspect ratio as close to the CGR as poassible). Don't make it too narrow or you will hear early reflections off the sides giving them a cuppy sound
The easiest thing to do might be to shrink the width by the the size of the vent spacer, increasing the depth as required to maintain the volume. If that is not narrow enuff, what is now the side could be made the baffle with the vent out the side.
