Line Array for +- 300 euro's ?

Can a full-range stereo setup with for example 8 drivers per side be done ? ( not counting amp, equalizer and enclosure ). And would it be cost effective ?

The Tymphany TC9FD 3.5 inch full range seems to work well in arrays with EQ.

A guy on this forum used 25 of them per line array and reports excellent results. In the US, they run about 10 Euro each so your price will be different. I'd go for a minimum of 12 per side and 16 if you can swing it.

use TG9FD instead, it's a better full range driver,

Hello!

For line array effect in near-field inhouse applications you are looking at a line with approx. 70% of total ceiling height.

Standard (Swedish) ceiling height, about 240 cm, gives you a line of approx 170 cm for line array effect.

If you are to be listening with some distance to speakers you should be OK with 3,5" drivers.

Closer distance maybe calls for smaller distance between centers, to not hear eventual cancellation related problems.

Regardless the Vifas both seem like very fine drivers. My own best at the moment is the small Faital Pro 3Fe20 model. Takes some power too which could be useful depending on how much EQ you want to put in.
