Do you do measurements using a baffle or box?

Testing was done with a Sealed Box. I think it was 100 Liters.

I afraid I don't have the Seas.

I don't have the AN Super 12CF anymore. Returned them after testing. This was a couple of years ago.

If I remember correctly, at lower levels, there's no cracking. Only when I tested at 2.83Vrms.

Melon, you always said these AN drivers were fast, maybe it was a sonic boom

Get a cheap mechanics stethoscope to find where to damp a driver and you'll hear lots of snap, crackle, pop on a wide BW driver, especially one with a whizzer.

Why do you think the Enabling process is a complex mass of dots/dashes in concentric rings?

There is a bit of a difference between hearing cracks with a stethoscope and a car backfiring like michael described

Where did he say that? He did note that it wasn't there during music playback, which it would be if the driver was damaged.

He said at 1W he could hear a loud cracking noise.
Normal listening levels are usually in the order of 1/8 of a Watt. That's max dynamic Watts. As a guess normal listening levels at 5kHz might be around 1/32 W
Hence the reason why it is not heard during music playback.
If it was me I would not put up with that. I would ask for replacement drivers.
