A craft glue.
Amazon.com: EK Success 2-Way Glue Pen Bulk, Jumbo Tip: Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Comes in other kinds of packages. I have been taking the pens, prying them open and puttin got on a small container, I use a small brush to apply it.
I buy it from the Michaels just down the street.
Remains somewhat sticky if you leave it exposed. Bonds if between 2 items.

@Adipocere
Before you trash your FE207's, try one more thing (easy and reversible):
Find a mains transformer 220/12v around 50-100 w . Connect a 4.7-20 Kohm resistor across 220 V wiring, and then connect 12V wiring in series with + lead of your speaker (between + of the amp and + of the speaker).
I used 220v/12v 50 w tranny, with 7.5 Kohm across 220V terminals. It can work with other transformers, but just try something you have handy and is similar to what was described.
Caveat: You will loose a lot of efficiency, but...let us know once you try this.😉

Sounds like the Decware 'trick' for shouty Lowther's - Steve used a gapped trafo if I remember though.
Not only a loss of efficiency but also some dynamic response - pretty drastic procedure, unfortunately.
Thanks for all the comments.
I've tried a couple of the suggestions:
Baffle step compensation - in order to get the peaks down to an acceptable level, the surrounding frequencies are totally lost. No good.
Stuffing behind the whizzer cone reduced the problem, but it is still too bad.
Made sure absorptive material was behind the driver and the screws weren't too tight.
Still working on the others.
I plan to try the FF225WK since the reports are positive. I'm also considering the FF165WK but suspect it may not be efficient enough since I am using a SET amplifier of only 2 watts.

seriously, phase plugs, it will smooth the response out. it may make the unit brighter but the peaks can be offset with an increase in the area surrounding, lessening their audible impact. if you get the shape right you can make the slightly off axis response roll off really nice and smoothly and you remove a lot of the nasty peaks. i've done this with 2 real cheap crappy drivers now and the difference is remarkable.

How loud do you play? I just had a wonderful couple weeks with 2A3 SE driving 86 dB FF85wKeN (mind you active helper woofers)

and either the 2A3 Bottlehead Paramours, or RH84/parafeed monoblocks were quite enough for middling SPL on the earlier FE167Es
2A3 Bottlehead Paramours + FE167Es
That was quite a good combo IIRC.

to clarify - that refers to pairs with a single FE167E per enclosure, not a model "Es" or "ES" - thanks to the evolution of models and various limited / special editions of Fostex drivers over the years, it never hurts to be specific

I think you'll like either, they sound pleasant, I'm sure you'll find their tonality an upgrade.
In both cases (and esp. for the 225) when you build the boxes, do the layout thus that you can still add a normal sized tweeter just above or below the widerange unit should you like that, hence perhaps also make a front panel that is screwed on rather than glued to the box. Or you can always add a tweeter in a small box on top of the enclosure.
...if you can wait another month or so, i'll let you know how the new 92db MarkAudio A12P does with my Fi2A3 amp/1.5wpc 45 tube and 3wpc 2A3 tubes. I don't foresee any trouble with either tube type in my modest room and non-concert ear splitting levels listening preference, we'll see. Thanks for all the comments. -

We'll have A12.2p too. Chris has the Mar-Ken12.2pT mostly built awaiting the driver to detail them.

apparently on a sloe boat from "country of origin"
I'm lucky as I've had my A12P's a good couple weeks at least. 😀 Have them running-in placed in their open lided delivery cardboard boxes. Initial impresssions are very positive indeed. With a SE tube amp (300b monoblocs in my case) I believe these could be special. Even in the open boxes they have a clarity and detail that impresses.
Scott has promised me a new design for these. However, even when I get hold of the plans it'll be a couple months before I can build the build the new cabinets. So I expect Chrisby and Dave to be ahead of me in the review of these in proper cabinets.
