Default Paul Voigt interview by Bruce Edgar

Received a gift today of approximately 20 issues of the Horn Loudspeaker published by Jim Cranshaw out of Texas. These are late 70s and early 80s editions that among other interesting articles, feature an extended article/interview conducted with Paul G.A.H. Voight by Bruce Edgar, which Bruce cobbled together out of correspondence and communication he had with Voight who died before a formal interview was ever able to be conducted.

The multi-issue ( 7 in total starting in September 1981and concluding in March 1982) feature covers Voight's earliest work, his theories and specific horn designs including many interesting pictures, graphs and hand-drawn calculations employed by Voight..

This should appeal to the vintage horn crowd or anyone interested in the work and theory of this very early audio and loudspeaker pioneer. I met Mr. Voight once in the late 70s when I knew even less than I do now so I wasn't aware of his remarkable work. There's little info on his work or the man even on the Lowther site so I thought I'd share...love the chutzpah and inventiveness of the early pioneers.

Depending on the level of interest here I would be prepared to copy and send interested parties a copy via SASE or perhaps scan...although free time available to do so is severely limited.

Anyways PM me if you'd like a copy and we'll see if there's any interest and then if I can keep up with the level of interest.

Mods feel free to move this if you can think of a more suitable slot.

Leon

No...this is not a monetary thing for me...simply a goodwill offering for those who might be interested.

certainly is best to scan all issues and put them on-line

I can do both in no-time (having fast scan praxis and few places to host files) , but sending those to me and back is a hassle

can you find someone locally ?

If DaveD doesn't already have this in his archives, I'd be surprised if we wasn't interested

Send some to Danley.

BTW I know Bruce Edgar used to live nearby here in SoCal. Is he still around, perhaps on-list?

I'll try...I agree this should be accessible to all who are interested...I know I've benefited time and time again from information made freely available to all...any suggestions where I could find someone to host this...a Horn specific group similar in disposition to DIYAudio?

Yes Dave was the first off to PM me. I'll be sending him a copy this week.
