Default Small Speaker Suggestions

Hello All:

I wanted to get some suggestions on some good sounding speakers that are <= 3". They can be full range or a 2/3 way setup. These are going into a very space constrained space.

Thanks!!

Hi,

The Aura NS3 is one of the best 3" FR's for bass due to its 5mm excursion.
You could use 2 in a 0.5 way arrangement in a ~ 4L to 6L box.

Aurasound NS3-193-8A1 3" Black Cone wide range: Madisound Speaker Store

Details of filters here : Zaph|Audio

for a 0.5 way just use the 8KHz trap filter on the FR driver.

rgds, sreten.

i got some of the MA CHR-70.3,

so far not all that impressed, but perhaps i was expecting too much. i had assumed dropping 60-70 euros on some tiny drivers would have given me more.

they have decent bass for such small drivers, the upper end is also good, they seem to completely lack similar impact in the middle ranges - perhaps they need a run in to let this part of the sound mature.

build quality of the driver is obvious, and very good so i'm not giving up on them yet.

Sreten,

A very nice, inexpensive speaker; great for displays.

4L to 6L box, I'll have to try that...sealed, ported?

Now that I think of it, I have 4 of the NS3s, the two shown and a second pair.

Any ideas?

Maybe a mini TQWT?

I ran sims on WinISD with the NS3s, I couldn't get much of a response; 6L vented looked the best.

Now this may be old news, but did find this 3" mid bass woofer and 3" PR at the speaker super store.
