Could someone please tell me why the impedance of a speaker as measured
by a digital multimeter is 4 to 5 ohms but if i just hit the side of the speaker with my palm the resistance drops to 0,1 ohms.Is this normal ? The speaker is a three way Fj forte piano. I measured another speaker to 6-7 ohms and if i move the woofer cone with my hand the resistance rises. Is there an odd behavior around the crossover section that doesn't tolerate any shock ? I must say that a krell connected to the fj's had two fuses burned. |

My guess... a coil moving in a magnetic field produces a current which may either add or subtract from the current from the DMM.

Thanks for the reply.
Well obviously this is normal but a resistance of just 0,1 ohm is a short circuit and the krell agreed. |
