Hi ... I have been looking at building this old Jensen corner horn. Would HornResp, ironing out the kinks, be better than trusting the engineers at Jensen to know what they were doing? The common chamber behind the vee is quite large. Most of this type (Jubilees, etc.) are made with divider. I do tend to like open as a pressure equalizer, but?
Thanks, Zene |

I think you can take it that the engineers at Jensen knew what they were doing.
Couple of thoughts: that box was designed for contemporary 12in to 15in drive units, be they full-range, co/triaxial or woofer. Typically, we're talking units with high efficiency and equally high Vas here, so on both counts, it needs to be big. |

There looks to be a slight expansion discontinuity, which would show up on the impedance plot. I doubt it'd be a big deal though, & will help with the low-pass effect. If it really bothers you, you could put a front-rear partition in. I suspect I'd just leave it alone on the basis that life is too short.

Scottmoose ... thx for explaination. I agree to leave alone. I've built Khorns and LaScalas and they are not easy for anyone that wants to try. Now, where is my 50 year old drawing equipment? Zene

If I ever get enough room to use these in some corners I have the 12" version and will find out some day how well they work. I just have hoarded too much spkr cabs over the years and it has killed my available space.
I'm hoping this spring to rectify that situation and post the results on this forum. Regards, Ron
