Some of you may have read my previous thread asking about 'tall' W3-871 enclosures for near-field listening when sat at my desk with my ears 1.2m (~47") from the floor. With the Christmas holidays coming up I want to decide on a design so I can start sourcing the materials & actually start building - I've had the drivers for over a week now!
What is my best option? Should I build something like cogitech's 'nanoTowers' or would I be better with smaller enclosures somehow mounted on tall stands? Can small (presumably bass reflex) enclosures ever come close to the bass capabilities of tall enclosures like the TABAQ & nanoTowers? Are tall enclosures like those mentioned any good when listened to from within a few feet? |
