Default several full range drivers for computer use?

This will be my first real computer audio setup, i will be using http://www.amazon.com/NuForce-uDAC-2...2522980&sr=8-2 to feed the signal to my Behringer A500 Reference Power Amplifier 2 x 300W 248-749

i plan on adding a sub later on but for now i will deal with a 2.0 system

would several full range drivers be alright to use as opposed to a 2 way system or a 3 way system? i just want this to be as simple as possible with no crossovers to worry about or anything, just plug them into the amp and be done with it (of course with the filter on the amp on to cut out the low frequencies)

is it alright to use different size full range speakers together? i was thinking maybe a 5" and a 2" rull range per side? or would i get better results using 2 of the same full range speakers per side?

A small ported box with a 4-5 inch fullrange would fill the bill! 300 watts is a little overkill, a couple watts at this range would be LOUD!

yeah as im doing more research im finding out im not gonna need all that power for what i want to do, as my expertise is car audio, where im running a multi thousand watt system, but im finding you dont need all that power in your home.

which is why after doing a bit more research Topping TP22 TK2050 (TC2000/TP2050) Class T Amplifier 30WPC 310-322 should be a better suited amp for what i want to do

As larry says, a single FR will be more than adequate. 3-5" would be my suggestion. Lots of good candidates ranging from 10s of dollars to 100s.

What kind of box size can you acomodate?

The Behringer is really not suited to this kind of ap. You will be using it where it is at its worst. The little T-amp will likely embarass it sound quality wise.

What about the Alpair-10 G2? Too much $$$?
Could add a nice little sub later on, if desired.
Seems like such a nice driver, aside from sensitivity.
Should work well with SS amps, I would think.
Should have splurged for the Alesis RA300.

are you talking about Markaudio Alpair-10 Gold 6" Full Range Gen 2: Madisound Speaker Store if so i really like those drivers, seem to fit my needs perfectly

but i do have a question, since i am gonna be using that topping amp which puts out 30x2 @ 4ohms, usually dont you want an amp that is capable of atleast twice the speakers rms for headroom reasons? or am i reading into it a little too much, basically would those speakers be a good match for that amp

or if i get this amp http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=310-324 would i be able to eliminate buying that nuforce DAC? or would i still get better sound quality if i get the DAC and plug the topping T amp into the DAC?

Wonderful enough driver, but probably overkill for a near field computer speaker - at less than 1 meter listening position the much smaller Alpair 6 M or P would be quite adequate. They both cost significantly less, require much smaller boxes, and even without future addition of stereo woofers (aka "FAST"), and bi-amping, this class of little driver is no joke.

once again, at tolerable listening levels in such a near field position a decent 30 W amp would have more than adequate headroom

I think you'd be better off to start with a single smaller FR driver per channel and unless the computer's soundcard is very very good, you'd likely get better sonics with and outboard DAC - Nuforce or otherwise. There are some small amps of this class that include a USB input - but the only one I've personally heard (Kingrex T20U) could easily be outclassed, albeit at additional expense.

Add bass support later as required - with a separate amp that includes a line level XO - mono units abound in the under $200 range.
