Default CSS FR125 & power question

Hi, quick question.

I'm thinking about powering my CSS FR125 single driver MLTL speakers with some class D amplification. I currently use a 2020 tripath/Autocostruire power amp. If I go for 100 or even 200w (for future playing around) will I destroy the drivers? I know I will have to becareful on the old volume control, and I don't intend to play this set up very loud.

Pre amp is Audio Note M-zero.

Cheers.

Well, the first time you crank it up to 5 o'clock, you will release the magic smoke. Keep it below 12 o'clock, you will probably be OK. I routinely use a 70W/ch amp.

I had mine hooked up to a 400 W studio reference amp and it only bottomed them out when I intentionally used the volume control to find its excursion limits. Higher than I figured it would be, but frustrating that these XBL^2 motors give no obvious audible notice between 'all's well' and bouncing off the back plate, so caveat emptor. Fortunately, they seemed to handle the abuse quite well, with no obvious audible impairment.

Bob and GM, many thanks for reply, as I suspected if careful should be fine.
