DC offset is a real problem only in dynamic loudspeakers that have no suspension. That means no edge roll or spider.

The effect is also called "oil canning".The usual cure for the problem, which is in part caused by long throw coils, is to employ a suspension that progressively stiffens in proportion to the movement. The offset is created when a coil is driven out of the confines of the magnet gap,i.e into a weak field and a back emf is created when the coil seeks to return to its central position.
