Thanks for the link. The Japanese 2-part video on Lowther repair (comes up with this link) was also interesting.

You're welcome. I did contact the gentleman and he said he sells the surround and spider on Ebay, as per his design. He mentioned they are made in Japan.

I have an AER, that needs some surround work and I am contemplating going this route if the surround/spider measure up the same. My preference is to send it to AER, but I am low on funds. It would be a good skill set to have for the future also, as the drivers age. Haven't decided yet.

Don't do a lowther/AER as your first refoam. Get a garbage speaker off craigslist or the like, and practice refoaming that first. Lowthers and AERs are too fragile and expensive to be someone's first.
