The new Fostex FF85wk is neck & neck with Alpair6P. Alpair6M slightly different flavour will work in smaller box. A teir down would be Fountek FR88ex, then Aura NS3-194.
I have but haven't had a chance to play with the 3" scanspeak (which is quite pricey) There are lots of TBs. With the price of neo somewhat a moving target. I've only proper experience with the W3-971 (not up to the Aura) and a pair made of unobtainium (VERY good) dave

I think a good rule of thumb in driver size is use a 3" full range driver for computer desktops and 4" or a little larger for general use. 2" is probable a little small for real full range.

The Peerless or Fountek range is probably your best bet. One of the alu Tangband's has good sensitivity but they are getting expensive

Without sub or helper woofers my somewhat limited experience is minimum of 4" and then only with good cabinet design and limited room size and music choices. Smaller drivers just can't move enough air. Even a 4" should have some help IMO.

As long as you don't try to get too loud, A6.2P & FR88ex dig amazingly low.

2" Tymphany/peerless Cat. No. P830987. Either PE or Madisound has them on sale. Very straight FR, no nasty break up and even some impression of bass in a vented enclosure,
