Default Fibhorn?

Has anyone noticed the Fibhorn recently advertised on eBay? I won't comment on his quality of lumber, overall craftsmanship, price structure, or choice of name.

I will say the design of the expansion is not one I commonly see. Does anyone know the history of this cabinet? Do you think it works? Are the plans available? It looks like it might be fun to build.

There's a finished one for sale too: audiophile FIBHORN Fostex full-range horn speaker | eBay

Apparently the seller designed it himself, and it's the only speaker design he knows of that's based on the Fibonacci sequence. Hence the name, I suppose.

I did see the "finished" one. He describes it as refurbished, not new, so I assume he was not the original designer. Perhaps I should fire off a question at him.

This pair is priced to reflect the extensive hand-crafted trim work in... synthetic laminate over MDF
MDF? Synthetic laminate? Please tell me that isn't fancy talk for walnut grain contact paper.

She. Designed by Sally Strasser. I haven't been able to talk her out of any detail.

In principle it shouldn't be difficult to design something similar, but since it looks to be made as a very small scale cottage industry product, I've no wish to encroach.

I respect that.

Looking at the ebay link you can click a drop down arrow to see the insides. It looks to me to be some kind of double bass reflex box. I'd like to hear a pair.

I thought of it as 2 successive compression chambers.
