Hi ,i am planning a lifelike sounding speaker ,preferably OB,and i would prefer either full range or 2 way ,but drivers with great mid range and delicate terble,to be used with SET amps,I heard lowthers about 2 years and found these to be on the aggressive side, anything about the sound of feastrex, fertin or any other

You mentioned maybe a two way, how about a coax? Considering the price level you're in with those other drivers, how about the GPA issue of the Altec 604? I think Pano had made up an OB using the 604 with excellent reported results.. Here's a link: Great Plains Audio's Two-Way Loudspeakers

Never heard them, but the 604's have a loyal following and are legendary, and these are suppose to reach higher than all the previous versions.. Perhaps others that have heard them will chime in and give their impressions..
Proof is always in personal listening though |

Wow, no one has yet mentioned Fostex drivers...
My little FE103E drivers are doing quite well in my system.

Try the audio nirvana line of drivers, although if you didn't like the lowthers you may not like these either. The midrange is one of the best you'll hear for the price. The treble is spiky but then all full range drivers suffer from that to some extent.
I know someone in Mumbai who owns a pair of ANs and could arrange an audition. |

Sometimes it's just that simple. I've heard Lowther and Fostex and felt the Fostex Sigma line offers a smoother sound. |
