Hi Everyone,
A couple of years ago I built a pair of Zaph B3S and like them for the price but the form factor is really terrible from my point of view. Now I'd like to try something different with them. Has anyone heard of a plan for the Hivi B3S in an MLTL / Tabaq / Cyburg needle kind of arrangement. I'd like something simple and tall with no fold. I don't need a lot of extension... just want to try something new. I'll alter the filter to account for the baffle layout change between Zaph System and the new one. Edit : I did my homework and couldn't find anything interesting with google and the search engine of this forum don't really well work with 3 char and less (eg: B3S) Thanks, Chuck |

Hi Chuck,
Not sure whether you found this thread or not. My first DIY: Cyburgs Needles with HiVi B3S I hear what you say about search engines and 3 digits but a quick search with 'needle' and 'hivi' came up with some hits. It helps when you know you've seen a thread somewhere but you just can't find it ![]() A little bit frustrating as the images are no longer there but it looks from the text that he used the same filter as Zaph. I am in the same position as you but I've only just completed Zaphs design using M3N rather than B3N. I am tempted to follow Jim Read's adaptation of the original Cyburg design as it makes the cutting slightly easier. Cyburgs Needle TQWT Visaton FRS 8 and Gainclone Amplifier I realise Jim used the FR8 but the original thread came up with allsorts of ideas. cheers Jeff |

Thanks for your input mrsbadcrumble. After much reading I think I'm gonna try the Tabaq alignment first. I got nothing to lose and it's fairly easy to build. If it doesn't work I might try the Needle alignment.
Thanks, Chuck |
