Seems like the tang bands have exploded in price, almost double.
Both 8" neos are now $321 each and the lowly w4-1337 is $90. Here is the link to their collection of full range drivers. http://www.parts-express.com/wizards...omo=&srchAttr= Norman |

There's been discussion on this sort of thing before. It's the Neodymium magnets that're becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of.

true, but even the non-neo drivers skyrocketed, like the small 2" (w2-803sm and w2-800sl), and their 6.5" subwoofer.

The subwoofer range all have Nd magnets.
... as do the two drivers you listed.

Hi,
This was talked about by PE (privately) last fall and it's just taking effect. At the wholesale level others like Eminence have also increased costs (in some cases double) on neo based drivers. With the resulting shift away from neo the other drivers will also go up but not as drastically. Bob |

I just looked this up yesterday; I can't remember exactly what I paid for mine but I'm pretty sure it has about tripled in price.
