Hi all the experts, I am totally stupid as far as building speakers go, and may I ask a dump question please?
I have ordered the driver set to build a Small Thor using the specifications on this forum and will be using Jim’s X-Over as suggested on the forum. Would it be possible to build a Thor with size between the Small Thor and the Short Thor? I was thinking along the lines of a cabinet with depth of 450mm, but baffle width to remain at 9” and the height more or less the same as the Small Thor. Can this be done without affecting the quality of the sound, and if so, what measurements should the cabinet be? Will this affect the crossover tuning? |

This is the wrong forum for the Thors, but for what it's worth, those are 1/4 wave designs that need to be adhered to. You can design around a BR cab with around 2 cu. ft. but it wont be exactly the same. Be prepared to spend some time tweaking the x-overs, they are great spkrs but ruthlessly unforgiving.
Best, Bill |
