Default 'Flight' speaker build

Made a 2nd model of the design I want to build using a couple of CHR 70s in a double TL. The cabinet will sit on a fork shaped stand.

Sorry about the photos; using a japanese pc and can't work out how to spin them the right way up.

The design isnt quite right yet, I'm still experimenting with the shape etc

I do love abit of something different. So is this the stand or do do the speakers sit in the what to me looks like a jet engines? How will it be built as it would obviously need to be hollow, unless it won't be wood and clay built in two halves? Got a 3d virtual model or any sketches to show further?

The model is laying on its side and the photo needs to be spun 90 degrees which I can't seem to do on this foreign pc. This is just the cabinet, the stand is not shown. I'll make a couple of moulds and use carbon fibre I think

Will get some nice renderings done soon.

I actually can't wait to see these built as these built in highly polished carbon fibre(I assume thats what you'll leave them as) would look bloody good. Never mind 'cool'.

Cheers Joe, thanks for doing that. The weave I really like is the unidirectional rather than the standard twill type. You can see it here on this table designed by John Barnard( ex F1 car designer) - it looks almost like a wood veneer, its stunning.

Then as I'm guestimating the height to the first driver to be about 70cm. You could then have a very simple flat square based(chromed). Keeps the hi tech looks and basically keeps out of the way of the actual stunning speaker

I'm not sure of the height yet. It depends on if I use a simple x/o on the lower driver (lobing) or some kind of reflector. I think it might be a little taller, maybe total height about 1.4 M.
The stand needs to add a small right angle to help keep rigidity, I think I have an ok idea in mind, it won't take away from the form.

I'm back to this design again; I couldn't figure a detail out for months but I think its looking ok now. The render is too squat so I'll have to adjust the height. The top fin is also slightly too tall.
The stand wouldnt work as it is, so I'll have to think about how to cantilever the speaker without making it look too cumbersome. Its taking shape tho!
