Mark audio paper drivers vs tang band and fostex.

Hello all again. I have been doing some research and I am looking to build for my self a little fullrange tower. I just finished the room I will be useing.
I have had alot of fullrange drivers but, I have never heard the mark audios drivers. The model I am looking at is the Alpire 6p gen. 2. For a 3 1/2 driver $54.00 each is alot but, are they worth it next to fostex or tang band or any other compnay. This driver would be used for movies music. I am looking for a driver with very clear and low level details.:D Please let me know what you think or were to go? Thanks jm

I would consider the Alpairs to be amoungst the high end of 3" drivers. Fostex dicontinuedthe only 3" that would give it a run (FF85 -- Mark has a pair of my uFonkeb, with the challenge to make the new gen A6 better). The only pair of really impressive TB 3 inchers i've run across, likely never got further than serial #1/2 that i have.

A tier down from the A6, and above most of the rest, is the Fountek FR88ex.

For movies you'll definitely want to add a subwoofer.

planet10 you really have to listen to those new Tang Band flat cone 3", and your point of view will not be the same again! but of course in FAST arrangement (crossover f. about 400Hz or higher- depends on how loud you listen)

also please read this;)

400 Hz XO is to high for my taste.

One TB at a time, My 1611 are on order.

Well that is good to know that the a6s are very high end. I am going to get a sub to run the lower octives. Thanks again jm:D

Hay dave have you tried the A6's next to the Fountek Fr 88ex's ? How about the tang bands never got futher then the serial # 1/2 that I have:scratch: Please do tell.:D

I've not had the oppertunity yet to try my A6.2. I have thou listened to a very early A6P (many enhancements in the actual production units) and i prefer it to FR88ex.
