Driver replacements

I have a pair of KEF floorstanding speakers in which one of the speakers is not working. They're over a decade old and I cannot replace the driver that is damaged.

Ok, I know this is a naive question but can I buy two new full range drivers and put them in the same cabinets without a crossover, and expect some good results?

That is a coax -- SEAS has a 6.5" coax i believe.

I'm a total noob here. (well I'm technical but not with speakers.)
Are you saying that I could replace the KEF ones with concentric ones from SEAS..without needing to change anything or adapt something?

Not at all. The only way that is likely to happen is if you can get replacements or repair from KEF -- certainly worth checking.

A new driver would require box teaking and an XO.

G'day Alan,
A friend brought a pair of these boxes to me last year, saying that one of the drivers wasn't working. It turned out that one of the internal wires had become detached from the speaker terminal. are you techy enough to check inside?
