hi all, the recent Tang Band W5-1880 looks pretty interesting and refined.
I would love to make a relatively compact box with it, they will mainly be used as surround speakers, sometimes on their own to show off fullrange driver potential (my main speakers are coaxial floorstanders). In winisd, I seem to get a reasonable result in a 25 liter BR box, tuned to 50 hz (vent has then 7cm diameter and 13.3 cm length). This would give 50hz at -2db. ![]() I was wondering if those here with more experience would find this a sensible alignment for this speaker, or is it tuned to low for good power handling? I don't exactly know how to assess that. Or is a different but also relatively compact box design better suited for this driver? thanks for any feedback. |
