Matching Amp For NS3-193-8A Bipole Build
Hi guys,
I have finished my NS3 bipole speakers and I am looking for an amp powerful enough to drive them. With my entry level Marantz AV receiver, they do not sound so good. The bass is vague, there's a lack of clarity and any material other than jazz. I have heard them driven by a vintage NAD preamp/dual mono rig in my uncle's home and I know they can sound hell better than what I am having, but of course I cannot afford large and expensive rigs as I have very limited space for them, so I am looking for something that is reasonably priced (say under $400) and relatively small and most importantly, can handle 4 ohm speakers. Any suggestions? Most shops here do not allow people to bring along their speakers for testing... :-(
I have NAD C316BEE in mind, but I am not sure if it's powerful enough and whether they are of good value as they are relatively expensive for a university kid... The Nuforce Icon Amp would be more affordable but first they are class D second they are 24W RMS only... I suspect they cannot handle complicated materials...
