That is because Rg is high when FB is 0, thin cable/thick cable........no big deal.
Zaman, do not know how long you listen in 24 hrs, however, Fostex needs needs long period of time to fully settle/break in.
Drivers need to settle itself and the with the box, the system needs to settle within the listening environment. Can not escape it. Most good things will come with time spent and regular playing back.
Very good/Regards
PS I enjoyed RH84 for some time, good clever design.

On wire - when I was still using the miniwatt I found that I preferred four twisted pairs of CAT5e strands (woven together) but since I built my RH84 amp I found that I preferred the single twisted cat5e cable...
what effect does it have on the sound, with single vs more strands?
Gychang,
Good to see some activity on this old thread!
Forum members are having a massive discussion on the following thread on speaker wire:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/full-range/193100-speaker-cable-myths-facts.html
In my case what I expereinced was a more live and dynamic sound, fuller bottom end, and crisper highs. The music sounded more "live". The change I had made for the BIBs was change from retail interconnects (made of multi-strand wirea) to one made of 2 pairs of single strand CAT5 cable.

great, will try it on my next build.
Woden Design has a small horn cabinet for the current Fostex FE103En known as the Sperrin. This is a nice looking unit that appears very easy to build. I suppose this is one of those very nice overlooked designs that hasn't yet been built. Thanks Dave, I think all the builders will be benefited from your input.
Dave, sometimes i feel like building a small set of speakers using old 103 with alnico mag. Do you have any, if yes what is the price for a pair? Thanks.
Regards
Given the Sperrin visual on the Woden site, it does look a relatively simpler build. The design still needs beta testers - not sure if anybody has done one yet.
Beta should have been removed from all pages -not enough hours in the day.
Sperrin is for FE103En, not the earlier 103 models, so I can't guarantee it would work properly.

I see that Madisound shows the Fostex FE103En @ $43.80. People are always looking for small horns for smaller spaces. Right now we are in a situation with new drivers from both Fostex and Alpair with no updated cabinets developed for them. The Sperrin is already ready or near ready to go. It looks more practical and easier to build than even the Frugle Horn3. Maybe a little attention will get the overlooked Sperrin going.
