The sub could be an option. That would require another amp though. I'm going for a low price point here.

What to do, What to do.

Coming 'hard on the heels' of my response, it sure seemed like it.

Anyway, I see you showed some interest in a MLTL variant, so guess it's time to start developing some for the GRS.........

T/S max flat MLTL:

L = 50.75"
WxD = 150.54"^2
zdriver = 19.71"
zport = 47"
dport = 4"
Lport = 2"

All dims are inside (i.d.) and approximate. Sim is lightly damped: http://www.quarter-wave.com/Back_Door/Box_App_Notes.pdf

Fb = Fs MLTL with 2.5 ohms series resistance (R) to show the vintage bass response to expect with a SET amp:

Same as above except........

dport = 6"
Lport = 0.75"

More to come as time permits.......

Ok. Perhaps I'm a little more over my head then I may have anticipated. Being as I'm not quite sure what WxD is and I'm not quite understanding some of the lingo. I'm going to definitely keep doing some more reading before i start a build. Perhaps i'll go with a simple ported design to get things going.

Gotcha. Google has been a solid 2nd runner up to the knowledge in this thread. Thanks so far guys. I'm starting to get my head in the right place to tackle this, I think.

That looks nice! Flat to the low 30's and a box that is easy to build and doesn't take up much floorspace.

Put it on feet and have the vent out the bottom? Use a slot port on the front Pensil style?

Works for me, thanks! Even has my preferred wide baffle! Might as well add your default driver brace to finish it off.

Thanks! A good starting point anyway, such alignments often sound a bit boomy in-room, so may need some damping in the bottom to roll off the bottom end at bit and need some baffle step compensation (BSC) to tonally balance it out: General Speaker Related Articles

Yes, or a nice massive plinth like Bob Brines does: Brines Acoustics

A high aspect ratio slot can be used, but will have to be derived empirically.

>1) Lower my power consumption.

If you haven't yet purchased the amp it might be worth considering one of the HiFiMediy TK2050 boards, maybe a T1 with a Meanwell SMPS. Being class D they use less watts when driven and if you get one that is rated for 2 x 60W it will have very low idle consumption. I have a T1 and it draws less than 8W when idle.
