japanese speaker plans

I found a web site by a guy in japan with dozens of rear loaded and loudspeaker plans. They werent very large, maybe the biggest was 24"-30". It was a personal site. Computer crashed and lost the book mark. I dont know how I found it, but ive been searching and searching and nothing. Sorry dont have any other hints on whats on it. But the plan were pretty detailed. If anyone knows of the site or something similar can you please help me. Thank you.

Just got the Fostex craft handbooks -- absolutely mind-blowing to see the designs in there. Very inspiring and some of the designs are just bizarre, and I've never seen any reference to them on any English-language site (nor any Japanese site, really). Way beyond Swans, Nessies and the regular backhorns we often see. Lots of robot-style cabs, for example, and furniture (like tv stands).

I can second that on Fostex Books. They are something else, the amount of information in those books is mind blowing!

It's like origami for speakers. Thanks for posting those sites... enjoyed looking thru them. I especially liked the very simple small cube like speakers (for 127e and 103?) as well as the back horns using dual 168 or 207??? So cool! I wonder how they sound.

Wow!! Thanks!! Not what I was looking for, but Im still stoked. The one I found was like T'z but simplier. Similar boxes to the ones below the flamingo type. And where can I find the fostex craft book. I search a little and only coming up with links to here.

Ive decided on the minibakkurodo from here. It calls for the fostex fe83. Wanted to know what everyone thought of that driver. I was looking at Tang Band W3-1401SD 3" and the Fountek FR89EX 3". Im gonna use the Tripath TA-2024 amp. Just want to know what would be the best driver for my first horn.

Fostex FE83e are no longer available, and FE83En is not really a suitable sub. Neither is the TB. The FR89 might work, as well i know that the FR88ex is a decent sounding driver.

The brown and orange is surprisingly effective. Kind of reminds me of the rugged plywood and laminated furniture in my old kindergarten.

Dave, how come the FE83En isn't a suitable sub? Looks pretty close to me.

Scott did some work for a client on the FE83En. I really is only good as a mid-tweeter. Nothing he could do would get bass out of it short of an impractically large horn.
