hi, i can't seem to find any fostex fe207 drivers ,what other drivers could i use for these speakers (or a similar size cabinet)

You can build the HCs w/ the FE206En (current product). I built a pair using the FE206e after hearing Bob Trancho's HC w/ FE206e. You can find the thread at:
Half Chang build Since Scott designed the cabinet for the FE207e, you will need BSC to them them sound right. I used 1 mH air core inductor and 5 ohms Mills resistor. As Scott will tell you, you lose some low end w/ the FE206, but I found the bass quite satisfactory. And I think the FE206 doesn't need any help on the high end, while many folks feel the FE207 needs a bit of help from a super tweeter. Cheers, Jim

Should do, as Jim suggests. The new GRS should also go in, with an alignment similar to the defunct Pioneer B20.

when you say the grs do you mean this http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=292-430
if so do you think these will give anoth low end will the cabs need any tweaking ? they look a very appealling price for my 1st speaker build i've got a stack of birch ply sitting here so just need some drivers any cheappies available in the UK ?if not i'll get the grs. thanks for the help so far oscar |
