Here's my little stereo (see attached picture
It's a TRANSONIC DS-3016 active fullranger. Features: 1) Folded mini-transmissionlines (with outputs at the upper corners), even sealed with a rubber band between the two chassis halfs. 2) Produces audible sound from 100Hz. 3) Great midrange (alu cones with rubber foams). 4) 2*1W Class A/B amplifier 5) Works with 4 AA batteries/accus(not just with three!). 6) Bass rgulator (distorts above 1h(pm)). 7) Switchable 3D-Sound/Reverbation (bathroom-sound, typically this sounds the better the older the recordings are). 8) Sounds much fuller when used in a room edge/corner/shelf. 9) Bought it for just 10 Euros (new, incl. postage). 10) Imho a masterpiece of british engeineering, really. The only mods I made were using a big Tantal cap to ensure sound quality even with almost empty batteries/accus and increasing the resistor before the power LED by a factor of 10 (don't need a laser strong light out of it).

I tried to find out the exact size of the unit to give it some sense of scale, but could not find a darn thing.
Can you take a photo of it in your hand or along a ruler? Maybe toss a few coins in?

17x2.5x10cm (Width x Depth x High).
Divide it by 2.5 and you'll have inches. Maybe it hasn't alu cones but just coloured plastic. It also has an external psu port (5V in), and a 3.5mm stereo in. The "TMLs" will probably work as bassreflex, but they look like mini-tml.

For all of us that have spent years of time learning about circuits and speakers and interconnects this is indeed a sad day.
For $10 all of it goes down the drain. ![]() OTOH - wife will be happy when I sell off all of my gear and give her da $$$$. Yeah - like that's gonna happen! ![]() ![]()
