Hi Guys,
Im looking into a JXR6 built I already have a pre amp so Im looking for a poweramplifier to drive the jordans. One hand I read that the Jordans dont need much power <25W, on th eother hand its rated 100 Watt and its good to have headroom. So what is the recommended power ? I have two second hand amps in mind, a Denon POA-F100 which is 3x25Watt (third channel for a sub) or an oldie Sansui B1000, 4x70W. Any thoughts on the subject ? Thanks, Ewald |

Hi,
Are you sure that you have a JXR6? It is certainly not reted for 100 Watts and you will need to keep the lows out of it or you will quickly exceed the driver's Xmax and damage the driver. You should contact Info@Jordan-USA.com if this is not clear to you. Mark |

The JXR6 is probably rated at 100w in system - that is, in use with a passive crossover to a bass driver at 500Hz.
If you're up to a bit of soldering, a pair of Gainclone amps would make a good match. They're available with outputs of 20w to 60w, depending on type. You can then add a bridged gainclone (for up to 120w) for a suitable bass driver. Add in an electronic crossover and you've gone active. |
