Question Fostex FE206ES-R vs FE206E or FE208EZ+T90A

Hi,
Has anyone compared FE206ES-R with FE20E or FE208EZ+T90A? What are they better?
Should I change FE208EZ + T90A at FE206ES-R? Or does not make sense?

I did a very similar approach. I started with Sachiko cabinets with FE206E drivers. I then replaced the FE206E with FE206ES-R drivers and that was a very signifiicant upgrade sonically. Due to my own stupidity I ruined the FE206ES-R drivers so I replaced them with the very rare ---{250prs world-wide}---FE208ES-R drivers which were another quite significant upgrade over the FE206ES-R sonically.

The only problem was the FE206ES-R are full-range with whizzers and the FE208ES-R are very wide-range without whizzers, so in my Sachikos the FE208ES-R had a freq resp of 80Hz to 10Khz. I put in a pair of large Heil dipoles that crossed in at 8Khz and covered from 8Khz to 25Khz. Now I'm also using a pair of Hawthorne Audio 15" OB dipoles called "Augies" which cross in at 100Hz and cover from approx 25Hz to 100Hz and I've nvr been happier with the results. I can play Led Zepplin at 110dB peaks, that's crystal clear with no sign of strain or distortion!

I believe the FE208EZ+T90A you're thinking about would produce very similar results and would highly suggest going that path and saving yourself the time & effort I went through to get to a very similar design. You can check out my system with the FE206 and FE206ES-R drivers here: Thetubeguy1954's Final Audio System... - My Photo Gallery I hope that helps.

I've got both the 206esr and the 208ez (not esr) with the t90a. The 208ez is a much better driver and I consider it one of the best I've heard. (Too bad as the 206esr has the better motor and surround.) Very underated and overlooked, sadly. However, it needs help on top although it is enjoyable as is with some c37 on it with Bud P. enabl. The t90a to my ears is almost unlistenable, like 600 grit sandpaper rubbing together. Do you want to buy mine? Instead buy the t800, it is a lot more expensive but worth every penny. I think I saw a pair on Agon recently. Or if on the cheap, buy a pair of old JBL or Altec compression drivers, remove the rear cover and be amazed at how good it sounds.

Has tried Omega Mq8lbomega in BLH. Sound beautifully, interestingly. But they for Bass-reflex. These are beautiful and great full-range drivers!

99.999% of BLHs are bass reflex boxes. They just happen to be quite small and have very large expanding vents.

Are Omega actually selling these units now?

Seeing that you asked, I listen to Jazz most of the time. In fact probably 95% of the time, but having grown up listening to Prog-Rock like Genesis, Yes, Led Zepplin etc. I still sometimes get the urge to put some Prog-Rock on and blast the music! I think hitting 110dB peaks is pretty loud without breaking up, so I happened to mention the Sachiko Reference I's capabilities for those who claim full-range/wide-range drivers always break up at loud listening levels!

I have compared Fostex FE206E, FE208EZ, Sonido SWR 200 Alnico and Omega Mq8lbomega.
Mq8lbomega - The most musical full-range drivers. They are simply magnificent! Now I wish to buy finished speakers.
