Greetings all.
My co-worker is trying to design a tiny speaker for speech frequencies. He has been recommended firing the driver (about 2cm diameter witha resonant frequency of 1kHz) a box of a few cm3 with a port 2mm diameter 1cm long to the outside world. I've calculated the resonant frequency of the box at about 350Hz. He's been told that this box will somehow magically reduce the resonant frequency of the speaker. I think he's been misinformed. Any thoughts?
