Default Full Range Speaker for iPod boombox

Hi,

i am thinking about buiding a boombox for my iPod. I am not sure which speaker I should get. It will be a box similar to this on iPhone Speaker Dock Makassar Ebony | techaffine (approximatly 20 liters and BR design).
The Fostex FE166En and the Tangband W5-1611SA are in my close-pitch selection.
Which driver would you pick?

regards

If you put handles or bars ,it has sense ,otherwise I would built it with separate elements . You could put magnets or 'L's to keep the blocks attached .
Then, any driver you chose will sound better !

Maybe... a driver !!
I didn't like the phisycal condivision of the baffle ,giving a narrow stereo separation . But two boxes of that size ,for the drivers you mentioned ,would be ok
A 3 sections sculptured/flared baffle, or 3 units(1 for the electronics ) than can be detachable ,better ,no ??

@ pico I meant "divider" or seperator.

I ordered the Tangband. I will post a drawing for the box soon.

Given it would be an ipod boom box and that the amplifier would probably be a chip amp (3875 is what I would recommend) the Jordan JX92 makes most sense. Another option is the Fountek FR135 (available from Madisound). If you are looking for a larger driver why not a Mark Audio 10 or 12?

I picked the Tangband W5-1611 for my small sealed speakers due to its flat response. I plan to add a little EQ to it to bring the bass up, but will measure its response before I do anything. If I recall correctly, my math shows an f3 of 98 Hz with a 6 liter sealed box without EQ.

The amp will be a tk2050 class d. I already bought the W5-1611SA. I will try a br system at 10 liters (for each chassis) with three different chambers. One for each box and on for the electronics in the middle.
@ Tom Are you happy with th W5-1611?

This is a simple drawing of the box

Click the image to open in full size.

1 = TK2050 Amp
2 = SMPS
3 = iPod power supply

What do you think?

Won't 20 dm^3 be a bit too big for ipod/table use? If the amp and PSU's would take 2 dm^3, the dimensions could be 25cm * 35cm * 25cm (H*W*D)
excluding (12-18-22 mm?) wood width.
The drivers seem very nice though and should perform properly in such enclosure.
