Default Best <$50 FR for FAST

I've decided on an active FAST setup using MiniDsp. Now I need to choose full rangers for ~300hz and up. I have a pair of CHR70s on the way, but would like to try another brand to compare and have some reference. Only caveat is that I prefer a driver that isn't too shouty.

What FRs should I consider, or are the Mark Audios as good as it gets for that price/frequency range?

chr 70 is good, you don't need to find other products.

Try this(not that many have done so) they sounded very good(better than my Fostex FE167) and cheap(I paid <US$90 for a pair) as well:

HiEND 4inch full range fullrange defy lowther &forster on eBay (end time 07-Nov-10 15:37:33 GMT)

I bought a pair myself the product is very well made, excellent finish. My guess it would sound as good as CHR70 if not better. Actually I wanted to use them as my PC spkrs and it turned out they sounded much better. They are in my lounge room now.

I housed them in a sealed cabinet less than 4 litres, and natural x-over at about 80Hz to a sub-woofer. They throw a large sound stage for such a small spkrs. Do try them and tell us how they compare with the CHR70's.

Cheers and enjoy listening.

Interesting. Thanks for the link. I'll try not to judge by the horrible description (there must be a niche for fluent English/other language writers for these HK/China products, if not there should be). They certainly look fantastic.
