Default my chr-70s arrived today

and so my journey into the realms of diy speaker building starts

can the assembled company recommend speaker binding posts?

and can you also recommend a suitable subwoofer to go with aforementioned drive unts?

Hi Simon,
Glad the CHR's arrived OK.
Re a Sub......you might do better to ask on the Sub Woof section of this forum. Most of the guys on Full-Range maybe more into traditional woofs on Open Baffle etc etc.

Cheers

Mark.

There are different schools of thought, ranging from low-mass (be they cheap or expensive) to larger things & all points in between. As you're talking about a modestly priced setup, I really wouldn't get overly concerned about it. Decent quality generic posts should do; if you feel a desperate urge to spend more, then Neutric, Cardas, or WBT come to mind.

Not until you give us some kind of clue about what you're doing with them. Sadly, we're not blessed with the gift of clairvoyance.

I have built a few cabinets in my day.

Will finally build a FR in the next couple of months....Scotts Maeshowe

I have heard really nice things about these binding posts, and will
use them on this build.

Electra Interconnect Cables

Good luck

I've seen those somewhere else before - they definitely look interesting - keep us updated on ease of installation, etc.

and I hope your experience with Maeshowe mirrors my own

cheers

Having recently built a a pair of Chr-Ken cabs for the chr70-en drivers, I can say that for my tastes, in my room, with my equip. etc. & etc. there's plenty of bass.
When I heard 'em in the Maeshowe cabs they were anything but bass shy!
Good Luck with your build.

Scott,

That's too bad.

Fortunately however, not only I, but four of the other entities that are currently inhabiting my body are clairvoyant. Sadly, the other seven are as jealous as can be.

Best Regards,
TerryO
