Mixed techique

Hi, I've seen a plan for Fostex' drivers that combines the two techniques: bas reflex and back loaded horn. It is the "original" plan given with drivers, 126En model.

What do you think about?

That particular cabinet is mediocre. They've retained the same cabinet designs for the En models as their E predecessors. Beats nothing, but there are plenty of alternatives which offer considerably more.

I've built the similar even more complicated horn for Fostex FE166En and these enclosures are sounding very well, in my opinion. Considering that I've not so much room to place for example a BiB and that I'm not a carpenter and that my tools are few, I thought to try this solution, trusting in Fostex' plan. I know, as said in other threads, that there are better plans, the problem is that I'm not sure to be able enough to build them! Are these enclosures SO ugly?

The bass they provide is not very good. You immediately start thinking about adding woofers. And if you add woofers then a simple sealed of aperiodic midTL is better and much easier to build.

If you can hang on, FH Mk 3 shouldn't be far off.
