Since March 2010, there is a new Tone Tubby San Rafael Alnico series on the market.
1. Has anyone listened to these? 2. By just looking at the specs, can you tell how these would perform as OB full/wide range drivers? (I am concerned by the very high QTS of the 8") BTW they are very affordable. Tone Tubby - Testimonials |

You should post under 'instruments'. These are guitar speakers. Probably sound as good as other similar guiatr speakers.

Tone Tubbies received good reviews when used as open baffle wide range drivers, especially their alnico 12"
The 12" Alnico Tone Tubby The new San Rafael alnico series have smaller magnets and are about half the price. And the best news is that now there is an 8"er. These look very much like vintage alnico drivers like Sabas etc. which also perform well OBed. Biggest concern is nobody has heard them in an audio setting and they have very high Qts combined with very weak looking baskets. I am imagining one 8" and two 12" on each baffle supported by a bullet supertweeter on top. Could someone listen to them in the US and report to us please? |
