Default New FE166En's

i GOT A PAIR OF THE NEW fe166En's. I measured them straight out of the box, ran them for six hours with pink noise at Xmax and measured them again. The results are attached.

I'd sure like to see the results others have gotten.

Bob

Bob,
are you going to build something with this driver?
Do you have an idea of how it sounds?

thanks

Thanks Bob! I think it's reasonably consistent. In other words, a cabinet built for this driver with these varying measurements will perform about the same plus or minus the variations. Measurable and probably audible but perhaps only subtle. Looks like you will get sound from these and good performance too!

Thanks Bob

A relief to know they should drop into my 167 cabs. Phew!

Bob, et al : still to be confirmed would be the real world Xmax limits?

and of course any difference in sonics at levels below those reaching said limits

It could be that effectively, these differences are "well within industry standards" - a joke in the millwork trade - sometimes meaning that once the plumbers and electricians are finished their on-site installs, all bets are off on integrity or fit/finish of the sink or vanity cabinets - and thank goodness for silicone caulking

Horst - just my , but I think Bob already has a fairly substantial design catalog of his own from which to choose.

That's a very nice sensitivity rating. Higher than published too I might add.
