Thanks,

I wonder about these too sometimes. Maybe they don't go low enough and they do have what appears to be a ragged response. Several TB's are cheaper and seem to measure better and spec lower in the bass. For me it's one of those 'close but no cigar' drivers tho i may find myself buying a pair one day just to hear what they are about. The people who have used them all seemed to like them very much if i recall correctly. I hope they chime in and offer their subjective listening impressions.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are these "TB's" that your referring to? Could you show me a link please?
Thanks,
Nicholas G.
I've used older part # Dayton 5" (and similar MCM) - can't remember which is in my paper mache head - this is a good graph - but graphs can mean little as my 8K Karlson with Tangband 1772 has better sound than the 5" speakers
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Polk Audio
I have since scrapped the idea of the Dayton in favor of the Polk Audio 6.5" coax DB651.

It looks great for my application, in a portable boombox powered by a ta2020-20 Lepai. Let me know what ya'll think...

I've heard praise of the 650->675 series of Polk coax from a Karlson coupler builder who uses them with sealed rear chamber - but don't know their parameters -- would qts be near 1?
Thanks for the input. I hope that they're better than the Dayton 5" I was looking at...All of the state are better...I plan on using a 1sq. ft. non-ported enclosure for each
