Have a pair of E-V 12TRXB and would like to check out the potensial of these drivers (the later white cast chassis type with orange cloth surround). Anyone with experience with this driver? I don't have any datas but I reckon it is intended for some kind of reflex enclosure. I'm also toying around with the idea of an OB of some sort, but have no experience as such. What about some kind of tuned quarter wave pipe? I like the design and WAF s no issue whatsoever!!
Grateful for all suggestions! Jan |

Don't recall any direct experience except auditioning them in factory cabs, but there's measured specs and one man's 'adventures' with them here and if you don't find something you like we can always discuss it further.

I have the EVSP12B which I believe is the same as the SP12TRB sans the tweeter. I have had this pair for close to 30 years in a variety of cabinets. I am currently using them OB with a plate amp to drive the Eminence Alpha 15a in an MJK H-Frame. This is a great combo; very easy to listen to.

I have the Electrovoice Tech Bulletin No.10 which has the dimensions and suggested design for the 12TRXB enclosure included. I will attempt to scan it and post it for you if that helps.

That's very kind of you if you could do that. The drivers looks to be UNUSED, absolutely mint and not even any marks from screws or cable connection, and they deserve a prober cabinet or maybe other solutions....
Thanks for swift reply - interesting combo, is it a Fostex or Coral we see on top? Any partcular reason for the off-center placement of the E-V? Yes, seen this page, and the most interesting cabinet plans (folded Voight pipe) is unfortunately not available! |

(Lets see if I have this figured out right!)
Electrovoice Link seems to work. Let me know if you can't get to the images and I will e-mail them to you. Last edited by Budgie; 9th March 2010 at 11:51 PM. |

Looks like some of the links haven't been redone in the switch to a new site. Here's the plan:

Nope, it takes me to a sign in page. Posting them on Flickr, Photobucket or similar is the usual way.

I hate signing up for new accounts. (I don't trust anyone anymore!)
I will try again. Electrovoice attempt 2 (thanks, GM!) Last edited by Budgie; 11th March 2010 at 02:42 AM. |

I resemble that remark!
You're welcome! DLed them, thanks for sharing! I didn't have this one. Do you plan to leave them up indefinitely for future reference? GM
