Default Acoustique Service Full Range

Hello,

I want to show you the great french speaker full range Acoustique Service.

* S.A.R.L. ACOUSTIQUE SERVICES *

I just have listened this speaker in MHP:
MHP (la Maison du Haut-Parleur) : concepteur français de kits d'enceintes pour la HI-FI et le Home Cinéma...

The listening was great in all the music style, and so great with the acoustic guitar (dynamic and clear sound)...

They will be probably my future project...

Regards.

Interesting, I noticed on the kits page a diagram of an enclosure for either a full range driver or a coax speaker that is both a front and back horn. It would certainly be interesting to see the complete plans for that cabinet.

So, eclerj, which driver & cabinet are you planning to use?

Rick

The efficency on the 13 cm driver looks optimistic (greater than the 17 & 21 cm)

Otherwise they look interesting.

The drivers remind me of Davis Acoustics for some reason.

A very interesting driver, quite expensive though - in that price range there are probably a few Fostex to consider as well.

I'm wondering about the copper plated aluminum voice coil, that's somewhat unusual I think. The other comments about the VC are a bit over the top..

Also not sure why they are so proud of their basic paper formulation.. The basket design looks nice, and should be good from the standpoint of diffraction off of the supports. The spider looks nice and large. I would guess the pleated surround is fine with an xmax of 2.25mm and probably helps control things going on towards the edge of the cone?

The mid range suck out between 4 - 8kHz concerns me a lot - seems rather excessive both on axis and 30 degrees off, that's going to be audible IMHO..

Depending on box design some sort of BSC, zobel and some correction for that mid range suck out are probably advisable.

What sort of box are you considering? The recommended design probably will not extract the best performance of which this driver is capable.

I'm just finishing up my Half Chili Changs based on the Fostex FE167 and have had to deal with some similar issues, hence my comments.

(I'm still inexperienced so if more experienced members contradict me I would take my comments with a grain of salt.)
