Default Specifics for a driver for a BIB?

If this question has been posted, apologies. If so, can someone point me in that direction. I've already done a search, but couldn't comb through everything and find what I'm looking for.

My question is: is there anything a guy should look for, or avoid, to pick a driver for a BIB? I would think a wide frequency range is good, but I'm not sure what else to look for. Just as some drivers are better suited for sealed enclosures and some for ported, are there some that are better suited for a BIB (beyond what are listed on zillaaudio.com)? I built one set so far, and I suppose I got lucky, because they sound pretty good. I used the MCM 55-1853. I added an old piezo tweeter and am very happy with it.

Now, it's not like I NEED anymore speakers, but... I just can't help myself.

Thanks,
Mike

Default Mods: please move this to the official BIB thread

The short answer is that if it works in a vented alignment, be it reflex, ducted port or TL, it's BIB 'ready', so while T.C.'s original is based on an Fs/2 tuning frequency, up to a point it can be whatever it takes to get the desired folded height/driver position and/or for a specific BW such as for 'sub' woofer duty. FWIW, the few pipe horns I built were tuned to Fs using drivers with a usable BW suitable for a 'textbook' 350 or 500 Hz XO.

For many, its base area (footprint) is a major design consideration, but I haven't tried to figure out if there's any simple driver specs rule-of-thumb to help narrow the choices, though FWIW, a ~0.36-0.41 Qts, then the one with the lowest Vas that otherwise meets the needs of the app is what I'd start simming.
